We have warmed up in Texas and there's no relief in sight! If you are traveling with your pet, remember, if it’s just 85 degrees outside, it takes only about 10 minutes for a car’s internal temperature to rise to 104 degrees. After 20 minutes, the temperature hits 114 degrees, and it only gets hotter from there. After just 15 minutes in a hot car on a warm day, a dog can suffer brain damage or heat stroke. The hotter the day, the less time it takes for the result of leaving a dog in a hot car to turn fatal.
Cracking your window a smidge or parking in the shade won’t help as much as you think it would. SIMPLY PUT, if you bring your pet with you on a road trip, DO NOT leave them alone in the car for any period of time. Make sure that they always have plenty of water and that your vehicle is adequately air-conditioned, and be aware of the signs of heatstroke, which include lethargy, heavy panting, excessive thirst, and vomiting. If you just bring your pet with you because "its a nice day" rethink that and leave them at home where they are safe.
If you want to make sure your pet is in safe hands while you are either at work or away from home, you could use our DAYCARE option at the kennels, where your pet will be observed and entertained while you are not there. Check us out!
When your dog's nails are too long, they create an unnatural angle for the foot. This causes unequal pressure on the toes and can cause the nail beds to become sore and tender. Long nails on dogs are more prone to splitting and/or splintering. This is the equivalent of a human hangnail. When dog toenails are long, we can cut them shorter. However, the vein in the nail — called "quick" can sometimes bleed because it has grown in length as the toenail grows. It takes time and regular visits to the groomer to have the quick recede. The images below show how the foot and toenails look before and after a toenail trim. Schedule your dog's next toenail trim now!

Your dog will board in a small family group of 25-30 dogs IN HIS OWN INDIVIDUAL HOME! Only dogs from the same family will be boarded together if requested. Having multiple boarding sections allows us to place your pet with appropriate neighbors. We use only Kuranda® beds in our facility for your pet's comfort. All of our indoor climate-controlled runs each have their own private exercise yard area. This keeps the ambient noise to a minimum and cancels the "warehouse" effect of all dogs in one big space. Each campus has its own central air conditioning, minimizing cross-contamination of airborne viruses.
Our kitty condo facility is away from the dogs — NO dog noises or smells to upset the little ones. It is designed to be like a home away from home with comfortable bedding to curl up in and nap.
